Sodalites of the Gurinmesaia

Amid the shifting sands of the Gaul Do Shah Wastes, whispers and rumors echo through the empty spaces and taunt anyone foolish enough to wander there, the voice of the elf queen, Sharvisal Gwhynndahris . While her domain remains absolute, she has forsaken her people to the barren reaches of their once lush and verdant home. In that absence has emerged an imposing and eerily charismatic figure who refers to himself as The Gurinmesaia , or the "Green Messiah". Using his presence he gathers a congregation of faithful followers beneath a promise of a return to former glory, rallying the Gauldowhynna and whipping them into a fervor and fury of both madness and hope.    Rumors swirl about this man throughout the Eastern Wastes that tell stories of him being able to achieve miraculous wonders, anything from willing a seedling to grow from the dead earth of the Elven homeland to raising the dead by merely asking them to stand. While the majority of these rumors remain unsubstantiated, the allure of the promise that this prophet offers cannot be denied, and his number swell with alarming regularity.

Structure

Aside from the leadership of The Gurinmesaia , there is very little structure surrounding this movement. The elves, due to their nature, struggle with maintaining anything structured or orderly.

Culture

Despite the difficulty getting the Gauldowhynna to remain focused on anything as a group, the charisma of the leader seems to have a soothing effect on the madness that runs through the species. While in his presence, the elves remain fairly calm despite their various tics and quirks of behavior.

Public Agenda

To bring about the return of the Elven nation and raise it up to its former glory through the power of their self proclaimed messiah.

History

Very little is known of the actual origin of The Gurinmesaia due to the lack of outside communication, record keeping, and reliable news that comes from the former Gaul Do Shah nation. The earliest sightings of the prophet that have been recorded place his initial proclamations of his divine purpose at approximately 150 PR.

Political Influence & Intrigue

  • Public Opinion - Most view this movement as the ravings of another mad elf, sustained by the echo chamber that the kinspeople he has gathered create around him. Outside of the Gaul Do Shah wastes, most of the other cultures have heard very little if anything about him, and as with most of the goings on in that realm, most people pay little heed to them.
  • The Lie - The Gurinmesaia claims to have been granted divine grace and purpose by Shah herself in the form of dreams and prophetic visions. The reality of this is that these visions are little more than the ravings of his lunatic mind trying to make sense of the situation and surroundings he exists in. While he is incredibly charismatic and seems to have a number of the gifs he claims to have been granted in his proselytizing, Shah remains absent from the world.
  • The Truth - The Gurinmesaia is actually a mentalist who, whether by intent or otherwise, has accepted pact with one of the Secret Powers of Cairne, the Court of the Shadowgrove. The nature of these two forces working in unison with an already troubled mind have created a fantasy of the ability to ascend into favor with his beloved goddess, and potentially even more. The Power he has been granted by the pact and his inherent abilities work in tandem to manipulate the world around him in a way that causes him and those around him to easily believe that his "miracles" are indeed the work of a higher power.
