Fey Courts of Tarnith

The Fey Courts are mystical seasonal powers from the Feywild whose influence bleeds into Tarnith through the thinning boundaries of the The Verdant Veil . Each court embodies one of the four major cycles of nature—growth, vitality, decay, and stillness—and sends envoys, omens, and champions to Tarnith during their dominant seasons. Though united in their role within the Sacred Cycle, the courts are known to bicker, feud, and make wagers that shape the land’s fate.

Structure and Influence

Each court is ruled by an Archfey Monarch and is associated with a time of year, a set of emotions, and a spiritual theme. They are revered, feared, and bargained with by the Druids of the Veil and are tied to several key sites, such as the Glade of Seasons.

The Spring Bloom Court

Ruler: Queen Lyris, the Blooming Empress Domain: Renewal, fertility, rebirth Symbol: A blooming blossom cradling a newborn fawn Season: Spring Mood: Joy, innocence, awakening   Known for their radiant gardens and whimsical kindness, the Spring Court offers blessings of new life and second chances. Their envoys often appear during childbirth, planting season, or the healing of old wounds. Yet their mercy has limits—offending Queen Lyris risks thorned vines and blighted growth.
"A gentle bloom can strangle the ungrateful."

The Summer Blaze Court

Ruler: Lord Solandrin, Flame of Glory Domain: Passion, growth, triumph Symbol: A burning sun enclosed in a golden laurel Season: Summer Mood: Glory, pride, intensity   The Summer Court values boldness and strength, favoring champions, warriors, and bards. Its emissaries stir emotion, inspire courage, and test mortal will. Lord Solandrin respects heroes who act with conviction—but scorches those who act in vanity.
"Only those who burn bright may stand in the sun."

The Autumn Gloam Court

Ruler: Duchess Morana, Lady of Falling Veils Domain: Transition, memory, decay Symbol: A crescent moon behind a falling leaf Season: Autumn Mood: Reflection, melancholy, foresight   Masters of illusion and introspection, the Autumn Court whispers to those in twilight moments—aging elders, mourners, and those seeking closure. Duchess Morana is a patron of prophecy, memory, and the slow unraveling of lies. Her blessings often come in riddles.
"Even beauty must fall. What matters is how we remember it."

The Winter Frost Court

Ruler: King Orlaith, the Pale Warden Domain: Stillness, endings, silence Symbol: A snowflake within a crown of thorns Season: Winter Mood: Solitude, endurance, finality   The Winter Court enforces rest and reckoning. Its presence brings frost, still air, and quiet judgment. King Orlaith views endings not as tragedies but as sacred closings. His court rarely intervenes—but when it does, death and transformation follow.
"The cold is not cruel. It is honest."
