Overview

Duchess Morana rules over the twilight of the year, embodying the beauty and melancholy of endings. She is the matron of memory, transition, and the fading of warmth. Mortals revere her in times of grief or change, and she is often called upon to guide the dying, the forgotten, and the lost.   Of all the seasonal rulers, she is the most enigmatic—neither cruel nor kind, but always honest.

Appearance & Depiction

Morana appears as a tall woman with flowing auburn hair streaked with gray, draped in robes made of fallen leaves, spider silk, and mist. Her eyes glow like embers in ash, and she often carries a lantern filled with fading starlight.

Personality & Presence

Reflective and mournful, Morana speaks in riddles and poetry. She respects those who embrace change and detests those who cling to the past out of fear. Her presence is calming yet unsettling, like the hush before the first snowfall.   She is a patron of storytellers, gravekeepers, and those who carry burdens others have forgotten.

Beliefs and Ambitions

Morana teaches that nothing is eternal—empires fall, love fades, and even stars die. Yet in endings, there is wisdom. She encourages her followers to seek truth in decline and to find strength in letting go.   While she avoids direct interference, her hand guides moments of poetic justice.
