Market District
This is the vibrant core of Safe Harbor, a maze of stalls overflowing with locally-produced goods and exotic wares brought in by traders. The air is thick with the scent of spices, sizzling food, and the excited chatter of bartering merchants and eager customers. A diverse mix of shopkeepers, artisans, farmers, and sailors live here. While the sailors typically spend much of their time at sea or at the Docks, they rest work here as well, greeting and mingling with visitors from across Temia and beyond. The district is known for its friendly atmosphere and lively energy. Many enjoy visiting the following:
The Founder's Square:
A central plaza with a large fountain, a popular gathering spot for locals and a stage for street performers.
The Weaver's Guildhall:
A grand building showcasing the work of skilled Temian weavers, featuring tapestries, carpets, and clothing of exceptional quality.
The Spice Bazaar:
A sensory overload of exotic spices, herbs, and fragrant teas from faraway lands.
The Harbor
The lifeblood of Safe Harbor, a bustling port teeming with activity. Fishing boats return with their daily catches, merchant vessels load and unload cargo, and skilled shipbuilders work on crafting sturdy vessels in nearby workshops. Sailors, fishermen, dockworkers, shipwrights, and merchants involved in the import and export trade work here. Some even live here. The harbor is a place of hard work, camaraderie, and the constant ebb and flow of people and goods. What docks would be complete without the following:
The Harbormaster's Office:
The central hub for managing port operations, overseeing docking rights, collecting taxes, and ensuring the safety and security of vessels.
The Fishmonger's Wharf:
A lively area where fresh catches are brought in daily and sold to restaurants, shops, and individual buyers.
The Shipwright's Guild:
A renowned association of skilled craftsmen who design, build, and repair ships for both Temian use and for sale to outside customers.
Dark Mile:
The Dark Mile is the notorious underbelly of Safe Harbor, a maze of narrow, dimly lit streets notorious for criminal activity. Gambling dens, taverns filled with dubious characters, and shops selling illicit goods line the streets. Criminals, smugglers, gamblers, and those seeking to avoid the law come here. The Dark Mile is a place of danger and potential opportunity for those willing to take risks. It's not a place to linger but there's still a few places of interest to visit.
The Rusty Flagon:
A notorious tavern frequented by pirates, smugglers, and those seeking to disappear. It's a place where secrets are bought and sold, and trouble often brews.
The Black Market:
A hidden network of shops and stalls selling stolen goods, illegal substances, and anything else a buyer with enough coin desires.
The Shadow Broker's Den:
A secretive location where information, both legitimate and dubious, can be purchased for the right price.

I'd like to visit here and study as long it's not during the big storm I've read they have. But what kind of historian would I be if I didn't study that as well... and what comes (shudders)... Of course that is assuming that the Inua Nara still have to face them and the storm. After all this time, a way could have been found and their big storm could be just that... a big storm. Wouldn't that be nice for them? To only have to worry about property damage.
