Personal history
Julian never knew his parents because they dropped him off with Henrietta Smith, his granmdmother, and went on a vacation that they never came back from. He was raised by Henrietta Smith and turned out to be a very stable, and bright young man.
He met Chloe when she moved into a house a couple doors down from him when they were both 5 years old. They became fast friends and were nearly inseparable. When he started going out with Comfort, he started spending less time with Chloe but they were still best friends.
It took him by surprise when Chloe killed him because of Comfort. The shock of being killed by his best friend especially with how happy and excited he was about proprosing to Comfort, allowed him to retain his intelligence when he turned into a Ghost. His death happened so quickly he didn't realize at first that he was dead.
It took him a while to learn how to interact with his surroundings as a Ghost. But it was frustrating and lonely for him until Lilly Cadwell started living in the apartment. Her ability to see him, gave him the chance to feel like he was alive again. While there are somethings he still can't do because he's dead, he's fall in love with Lilly Cadwell and is happier now, than he's ever been.
