Chenval

Once the protector of the Long Stride's lower savannas, Chenval was a zebrine unicorn poached for his horn and slain through his mouth. The felling strike tore his mouth, breaking several teeth and giving the unicorn a canine-like maw. Chenval had many clerics and followers that pledged to find his poached alicorn. Once such pact follower, Callay, reanimated Chenval as an undead by killing farmers and sewing their flesh together to recreate a zebroid body. This ruined any chance of conventional resurrection and Chenval quickly revoked patronage from Callay.   Currently, Chenval resides under Sentynel as a spiritual guide to the leadership there. Thanks to the newly formed Shields of Sentynel, the unicorn was revived using the offerings, blessings of Silvanus, and a restoration of his alicorn to restore him to life. Over the next months, Chenval slowly regrew organs, flesh, and musculature. Chenval deep ties to the land helped restore plenty to the soil and rivers of the Long Stride. This renewed power will no doubt help the Shields as they plunge into the Scorch.

Author's Notes

Chenval is a portmanteau of two French words: 'Chen' meaning dog and 'Cheval' meaning horse. This is an allusion to Chenval's horrid maw and broken teeth that are hound-like.
