Runathelas Palace
Purpose / Function
To hold the rooms of the Emperor and their family and protect them if the need arises. That is the primary purpose, the secondary purpose is to ensure that the splendor of the Empire is not lost on those who see it above the rest of the city.
Alterations
Over the years many additions have been made, secondary walls, secret passages, even whole wings of the palace have been altered. It is not the oldest structure in Unatheas, but it is the grandest.
Architecture
The exterior of the palace is extravagant stonework, built to be both defensive and look regal at the same time. The interior, however, is all focused on ensuring that any visitor is kept well aware of the majesty that is the Empire. Detailed reliefs in wood and stone can be found in nearly every hallway and hall. The throne room itself a masterwork of carved wooden structure depicting heroes, villains, myths, legends, and even the occasional monster all entwined with linework that brings it all together.
