House Guards

Structure
Aside from the Guard of the Imperial Citadel, the structure of the House Guard is set by the House of which they protect. Each house receives trainees raised to be Guardians, which their Captain of the Guard ensures get adequate training, education, and sustenance.
Culture
Each member of the House Guard is trained from the age they are brought to initial training to love the Empire, the House they will eventually serve, and to fight. Each of the Great Houses sends their Captain of the Guard to an annual draft of recruits. A week long event is held where recruits of suitable age are presented and given rigorous challenges and combats with one another, and by the end, a lottery is made. The Captains all jockey for first pick of the draft, and eventually every recruit is brought to their new home in one of the Great Houses.
Public Agenda
To serve their House and protect it from any threat that might arise, be it supernatural or natural.
Assets
Assets for the Guards is also the responsibility of the House they protect. However, fresh recruits raised and trained by the Empire often come from orphanages, at a young, pliable age. They can also come from young volunteers, though it is a harsh and difficult training to go through if one is not prepared, and failure is rarely rewarded with freedom.
