Battle of Menevia
In 480, King Paschent of Bulith, eldest surviving son of High King Vortigern, allied with his nephew High King Gillomanius of Ireland. Their combined armies attacked the shores of Menevia in the Cambrian kingdom of Estregales.
Despite being roughly half the size and receiving no support from King Canan of Estregales, an army led by Prince Uther Pendragon, Merlin the Magician, Prince Madoc ap Uther and Baron Ulfius of the Buck met the Irish army on the beaches.
Under Baron Ulfius, Sir Amlyn of Winterbourne Stoke and Sir Artaire of Idmiston fought in the vanguard. Sir Blains, Sir Rolant the Wyrm Hunter and Sir Eiffin of Lighthorne also fought for Britain.
Driven by a red star streaking across the sky, Prince Uther mounted a last-ditch charge and rushed the Irish armies, killing King Paschent and High King Gillomanius. Aside from prisoners of war, the entire Irish army was slaughtered on the beaches of Menevia.
King Canan later attributed the battle to a misunderstanding on Prince Uther's part, claiming the kings were welcome and Irish settlers are common.
