Dragon Peninsula
Drania occupies a proud and prominent position on the southwestern peninsula of the continent of Brakhaal. It is bordered by Nortland to the north, Breania to the west, Westren to the east, and the vast and temperamental Dragon Sea to the south. Its natural boundaries are defined not only by these political neighbors but also by dramatic landscapes—mountains, rivers, forests, and coastlines that shape the rhythms of Dranian life.
One of Drania’s most defining landmarks is the great White Star Lake, situated in the heart of the kingdom between two ancient mountain ranges. This massive freshwater body serves as a cultural and economic hub for the surrounding provinces. Its silvery surface, often shimmering under the light of the moon, has long been a source of folklore, reverence, and trade.
To the east, nestled between the rising peaks and the lowland farmlands, lies the expansive Lichtenwald Forest. This dense and ancient woodland is both feared and revered by Dranians. It is home to old draconic ruins, lumbering beasts, and the ever-present mists that seem to whisper of older times. The forest forms the backbone of Drania timber trade, especially valuable to noble merchant houses such as House von Lichtenwald.
Though Westren lies just beyond the forest, there is no hard border between the two lands. The people of northern Westren and eastern Drania live in peaceful proximity, sharing trade and tradition. Drania maintains a few scattered outposts and fortified waystations in northern Westren, often under the banner of local noble families rather than the crown itself. While some in Drania dream of greater influence in Westren, for now the region remains a fragmented and independent realm, known for its halfling and gnomish communities and their close-knit, pastoral way of life.
Drania’s coastlines are dotted with port towns that feed into the Dragon Sea, a turbulent expanse that both connects and isolates the kingdom from distant lands. The sea is revered in @Dranianculture—viewed as both a lifeline and a reminder of the draconic blood that runs through its noble houses.
