Infrastructure
Among the most notable buildings in Gjar are the parliament building and Hneknúrk-öm University, the latter which is a major center of education in Örkraz and Borgalor in general.
Tourism
Úgjúrk-ne is one of the most popular cities for tourists to visit in Örkraz, drawn to the traditional arts, crafts and cuisine, unique architecture and exotic landscape of the surrounding region.
Architecture
The city has some of the most stunning examples of southwestern örkrazic architecture, which makes heavy use of local basalt columns for foundations and ground floors of buildings, walls, stairways, colonnades, gates and such, often twisted into various shapes using magic that would be impossible otherwise. Only the simplest structures are entirely made of wood, which is generally used for the upper floors of most buildings, and roofs are covered with dried palm leaves or -more recently- terracotta or stone tiles.
Another notable feature of Úgjúrk-ne are the myriad pillars carved from tall basalt columns found throughout the city, each a memorial for notable people ranging from rulers to artists to warriors, where people often leave small offerings in niches or by the base of the pillar to honour their memory.
