East Jekralon1 is republic on the eastern Maralon Steppe in southwestern Jælondis, and technically the smallest country ruled and predominantly inhabited by humans in that part of Borgalor, though due to its status as a protectorate of the kingdom of Hynra, most people tend to regard it as a province of the latter. It's bordered by the countries of Hynra to the northeast, Þagralía to the southwest and the desolate region of Amþax to the west.
East Jekralon's capital is the city of Eox-Úmas, and its current president is Mjax Spalis.

History
East Jekralon is a rump state of Jekralon proper, specifically what remains of its eastern border, with most of its territory lost to the undead creatures since the end of the Fell Wars some forty years ago, which the East Jekralonean government still claims and has actively tried to secure with the help of Hynra and various foreign organizations ever since, with slightly better results than most countries bordering the region.
Numerous Jekrals, like other human ethnic groups, fled their country during the war and settled mostly in the Southlands, particularly Númra, where they now form a significant minority. Jekralonic script, already widespread in Maralon and along the coast prior to the Fell Wars, has now been adopted among most remaining human countries as an (if not the) official script to to be taught in schools and used in administration and modern literature.

Religion
As in Hynra, apple trees are an important part of jekral religion, and a number of sacred groves were once found throughout Jekralon, each guarded by a Malic Order of warrior monks living in a large tent nearby. Only two pre-war groves remain in Jekralon and a handful more have been grown there since, though the largest one is located in a park in New Falas, capital of Númra.
