Our World was lonesome, pallid, and bleak. Though it was small, we knew of nothing more than our World in those days of the last age, and so our name for it then was Lor- "everything." We, the Folk, lived in colonies scattered in the mountains and cliffs that crossed and bordered the harsh, inhospitable lands of Lor. There were some, however, who preferred to inhabit the lightless, dank labyrinth beneath the hard, barren ground of our World. The alone knew the true nature of reality; the Great Lie of Lor. They claimed to know of a place beyond our World, but we laughed in our ignorance and professed that there was no such place. Lor was all that is, was, and would be; there was only our World, nothing more. We could not have been more wrong.
