The Silk-Weavers guild in Renelestre, which rose to prominence in the waning years of the 5th century, and then shot into power in the early years of the 6th century under the leadership of Lysentia who brought what amounts to a new technology to Renelestre from her home in the World Below: The Tapestries. The Tapestries has made travel across the city nearly trivial for those who can afford the rates charged by the guild. So desirable was this near-instant mechanism of travel, that the guild was able to install them in nearly every section and quarter of the city, in addition to most holdings of prominent officials and organisations. Headed by the matron herself, with a conclave of her closest associates, the Master Weavers, directly reporting to her, the guild prizes itself on its secrecy at the highest ranks. It has direct control over a large portion of the eastern sections of the city, as well as having holdings in every single district. They also have a form of oversight on many of the other similar, older guilds which they have supplanted.
