Abor'vita (a-bore-vee-ta)
Guardian Deity of Life Abor'Vita
Abor'Vita, the Guardian of Life, second son and child of Asurmen. He protects all that lives, and admonishes all that doesn't, or lives an unnatual life. He detests the Undead, and any who dabble in the art of necromancy. Many families, particularly newly wed couples often pray to him and seek the blessing of having children, as it is commonly thought that Abor'Vita has the power to decide whether or not individuals are able to have children. Abor'vita is typically associated with fertility among men and women or all races. Farmers who raise cattle also worship him for similiar reasons.
It is a common tradition for two prospective parents to perform a mating ceremony on the night of their honeymoon, where they present offerings and prayers to Abor'Vita and Shal'naresh. During the ceremony they ask the Deities for the blessing of many healthy children.
