At the beginning of the Grand Metal War, the Amaar Empire imprisoned Reon Kin'Ghaard's sons, Piino and Rai’Laith. They kept the two inside the flying fortress, Istahir. Skilful aakhir illusionists safeguarded the stronghold. They turned the island invisible as it soared in the skies, while Piino’s portals ensured it changed locations.
Khelmtsiphe Malkisaidek and Reon sought to rescue Piino and Rai’Laith for seven years, yet Istahir stayed out of sight. The tides turned when Malkisaidek’s son, Prince Paralansarr, developed his magic. The prince sensed the surrounding magic and its sources. Not even illusion magic escaped his watchful eyes.

During the Battle of Rebirth, Paralansarr noticed a faint island silhouette in the sky and alerted Malkisaidek. Aided by his son’s directions, the king raised a massive tree and caught the fortress. The powerful impact wrecked the island’s control panel and disoriented its mages, making Istahir visible. The siege ended as Malkisaidek’s forces rushed through.
Paralansarr sensed Piino’s magic and followed its path. As he reached a secluded cell, Piino’s dire condition appalled the prince. Paralansarr asked him to open a portal to safety, yet the unconscious man didn’t react. The prince lifted Piino up and fled the fortress.
Paralansarr and Piino jump through hoops, working behind the scenes and handling issues long before they reach Malkisaidek.

Istahir became the base operations for Paralansarr’s division – the Red Guard. They specialise in domestic intelligence and security services. Piino spreads portals throughout the Dayani Empire, spying on notable figures and gathering intel.Paralansarr and Piino jump through hoops, working behind the scenes and handling issues long before they reach Malkisaidek.
“Parr? That boy’s just lazying around in the tree-house of his!” - Malkisaidek

"Do islands float?"
"No, they do not, son. Why?"
"I see an island floating in the sky with buildings on top of it. Directly above the cathedral."
"Oh holy... Tree, catch!"
And so it was, the tree catched an island and was renamed Istahir.
Haha. Thankfully flying islands are common enough so Paralansarr wasn't seen as crazy.
