Planus Continent

A good, tall hill can let one see for miles around, for hardly anything will obstruct your view. That is, if you discount the massive traveling herds. It is a land so flat that you can make out the ruins and living villages of many realms from a single point.
— Captain Amaya Pneuma

Overview

Maybe the flattest landmass in the world. At least that's what Captain Amaya Pneuma could glean from her discusses with the locals on the mountainous east coast of the continent. Her crew did note the lack of mountains on the western side of the continent once they traveled the northern passage. That is to say, it seemed that the land was the flattest among any that Amaya's expedition had seen to that date.   Later expeditions to the continent, including those financed by the The Archivists Guild, have landed at the east coast and found only flat jungles. It seems beyond doubt that the interior of the continent is a vast flat plain that is no doubt home to massive herds. Rumor has it that Centaurs may have established a kingdom within those plains.

Land of the Ancients

From the little surveying Amaya's expedition managed, Planus hosts the greatest concentration of Ancient Order roads and ruins anywhere in the world. Many roads are still suitable for travel and many buildings are sturdy enough for habitation, a testament to the skill of the Ancients.   Captain Amaya wrote of the ruined remains of cities far greater than any that has survived on Quassus. It is highly likely that Planus hosts ruined cities far greater in grandeur than even the Ancient citadel the Radiant City of Sol was built upon.

Knowledge Deficit Concerning Planus

Unfortunately the The Archivists Guild knows little about the places and events of the continent. Planus is perhaps the least known of the continents of the world within this archive next only to Glacialis. Future expeditions will hopefully shed more light on what is already a fascinating place in the minds of citizens of Quassus and among our archivists.

Just like anywhere is else in the world, Planus has its share of wonders. I plan to see these wonders for myself.
— Phidi Strideheart, Traveler

Geography

Vast plains are likely the predominant terrain type within Planus. The continent also hosts its fair share of mountains, rivers, forests, beaches, islands, and even a vast jungle along its western coast. Planus is where one will find the largest floating island in the world, Velika Island, which is located in the continent's eastern inland sea.   A massive Ancient Crater dominates the northeast part of the continent and is home to strange happenings. The site may have seen a great battle long ago, or it is perhaps the site of a tragic accident. Amaya writes that the locals tell tales of life slowly leaving the area surrounding the crater, and that eventually many will need to travel westward to find new homes.   Between the continent's two great mountain ranges lies the The Great Chasm, a canyon that is claimed to be bottomless in several places. This canyon is also said to howl when strong winds are present.

Travel Note(s) from the Archivists:

I was only there briefly, but what surprised me the most was how many ancient ruins there are on Planus. I would have thought the locals would have far surpassed Quassus in power already considering this continent hardly experiences the quakes we do here on Quassus. Perhaps the reason is because there's so many ruins and thus so many points of conflict? - Archivist Edward   It is possible. There are so many things we do not know about the wider world, including our own lands. - Archivist Taenya
