Continental Island of Lluvia
Somehow, of all the shattered places of Awldor it is Lluvia that has allowed civilization to arise with a vengeance.
Overview
Lluvia (one of the Ls is silent) is the southernmost of the three continental islands of Quassus Continent. It is a relatively pleasant island that experiences the least and mildest earthquakes of any island of Quassus. The lack of seismic activity is particularly responsible for the fast recovery of civilization in the area. Lluvia is home to the Kingdom of Helia in the south, the Queendom of Lunaria to the west, and the Kingdom of Vhara in the east. These are the three major powers of the island as well as the continent barring the potential unification of the The Seven Northern Tribes. Many on Quassus would claim the land as the cradle of civilization. This could strike one as a rather self-centered for a self appointed title since there is much to learn about the lands beyond the continent.Continental Islands
Continental island is the term given to the three main islands that comprise Quassus (correctly pronounced WUAS-sus). Some have argued that the size of these islands is enough to justify the identification of three separate continents. However, the continental islands are in close enough proximity to one other, as well as sharing an area with many other smaller islands, the popular consensus is that it should all be considered one continent. Perhaps in the time before the collapse the lands really were a physically united whole, a large landmass featuring a large inland sea. The Ancient Map of Lluvia, a recovered ancient artifact, seems to support this idea.Like the rest of the continent, the shattered nature of this archipelago that many call a continent means that many kinds of water features stand between where you are and where you want to go.
Geography
Lluvia is home to a variety of geographical features. From the persistent burning of the Feu Wood to the tall gleaming peaks of the Silver Mountains. There is even a thin tropical forest, Wirwar Forest, that outlines part of the Lluvia's southern shore.
The vast Golden Plain lies in towards the western side of Lluvia. The plain is the home of the ever expanding Kingdom of Helia. The herds of this region are said to have been growing since the collapse. A recovering population of animals in a world devastated by The Great Collapse. Some have begun wonder if the needs of Helia's armies will stall this population recovery.
As is common to the Quassus region, the continental island is surrounded by many smaller islands, floating islands, and various rocks that make the navigation of its shores difficult for the unprepared.
The island is also home to many small lakes and rivers many of which are scars left by the collapse. Many of these lakes and rivers were imbued with the lingering wild magics of the collapse and thus possess strange qualities. These can range from simple smells to more extraordinary occurrences. Great care should be taken when traversing these small bodies of water.

Note(s) from the Archivists:
I think there's something to the idea that Lluvia is the cradle of civilization. It's not like Deshret, our southern neighbor, is a particularly inviting place. - Archivist Theta It is possible that a subterranean power lurks under those deserts, to say nothing of what the inhabitants of the Genasi Archipelago think. - Archivist Enna Fair point. If powers of equal stature do exist to contend with the likes of Lunaria and Helia they certainly have tried making contact yet. - Archivist Theta Who knows what will happen tomorrow. - Archivist EnnaRemove these ads.
