Feu Wood
A bonfire that will last to the end of time. What a strange thing to behold.Everything is on fire. The trees are on fire, the flowers are on fire, and the fungi are on fire. Good luck picking a flower here. Not only is everything on fire, they like to be on fire. There's not much wildlife though. It's probably because your standard deer does not like to be set on fire. Unless we're talking about a Fire Deer. The Fire Deer likes to be on fire. It also likes to set fire to other things making it quite the predator. In setting things on fire the deer also cooks them, so there's that.
Why is Everything on Fire?
It just is.How can it Stay on Fire?
It just does. How is any of this Possible?
No one knows. Magic probably. It's always magic. Is there Smoke?
Lots of it, and just like smoke from a campfire it will chase you to the ends of the world.Do Animals Migrate There?
No. The place is on fire.Do Animals Migrate From There?
Yes.How are the Local Flora?
They are burning with life. How are the Local Fauna?
Burning with life. It's quite obvious.Should I Visit the Feu Wood?
Not without having a good reason to. Though if you happen to be a being made of fire then by all means enjoy your stay. Can I make S'mores There?
No one will stop you.Just because it's on fire it doesn't mean that it isn't alive.
Cycle of Fire
One may be forgiven for thinking that the Feu Wood is a constant blazing inferno. This is not always the case. The wood goes through cycles where the woods are like the dying embers of a campfire in the winter, and then rising to a raging inferno in the summer. The cycle continues on and on and no one knows why.Constant Firewood
Those who brave the constant flames and heat of the Feu Wood can procure for themselves firewood that will never extinguish on its own. The problem of course is that such wood is always on fire. A magic bag or otherwise fireproof bag is recommended.A Gateway to the Infernal Plane?
Shortly after the wood's discovery and reporting to scholars, a theory has emerged that the Feu Wood could house a portal to the infernal realm. No one has been able to confirm the existence of this portal. No beings from that plane have been spotted within or without the wood. Of course, some would point out, the wood's wildlife need to eat something and their carnivorous tendencies have been observed. However, monsters from the infernal plane aren't generally known for being edible to anything or anyone in the material plane. Perhaps there's a first time for everything.I personally find the Feu Wood to have a certain charm to it.
