Koradul Clan
Culture
When members of the family come out from underground, they put a bit of dirt into their mouth. They then spit it out to remind themselves the dwarves came from the earth and to the earth we shall return one day.
When members of the family first go underground they rub dirt on their hands and then smell the dirt. This is part of the above ritual.
The Rite of Stone – At age 17, members of the Koradul family are considered to be adults. Part of their coming of age ceremony is a rite where the new adult is taken to be recognized in front of a stone called the Koradul Stone. The new adult is then allowed to chip a piece off of the stone to be carried with them as a reminder of ancestors past. Members of the family are allowed to determine how they want to carry the stone; whether it be on a necklace, mounted onto a ring, or carried loose.
Most members of the family have a ritual when they order a drink. They order two drinks and put the stone in one of the drinks. They believe that this allows the Koradul ancestors to take part. Also during family events, such as dinners or mass gatherings, the Koraduls place their stones in a group to allow their ancestors to gather and take part as well.
Members of the Koradul family who cast spells and magic sometimes use the stone as a focus, believing that their ancestors are able to lend their talents to the ritual and/or spellcasting.
