Kimiko’s Dream
You drift off, feeling the effects of the jungle heat weighing on you. The coolness of the wood from the house is comforting you as you drift off. Your dreams start off pleasant enough, first of home in Titan’s Harbor, but it seems more vivid than your past dreams.
A darkness seems to take you. You feel it first as an uneasiness somewhere around you. Your vision shifts to Dee’s house. You see it new and filled with joy, a happy family with three young daughters. Time passes, and you see the man of the house speak to a stooped-over figure. His demeanor immediately changes. He then starts mistreating his family. He teaches his daughters to fight, and he deals out very violent punishment at even the slightest infraction or mistake. You see the girls over the years and become hard. Mom seems oddly absent. Sometime later, on an adventure, the youngest girl, now a woman, finds a black staff. It is beautiful and you see her power grow significantly. Over the next few years she returns to her home and after some time, hits her dad with the staff killing him instantly, she looks upon him with satisfaction. You see her shape changes into your dad and makes love to her sister.
Your vision drifts back to before you were born. You see your dad again, but he seems preoccupied moving through his day. Your mom and dad go to bed for the evening after tucking your sister in. They looked so young back then. You see them make love and enjoy the time in each other’s company. Your dad lies there, staring up at the ceiling as your mom drifts off in his arms. Your dad seems to be looking directly at you. He smiles and closes his eyes.
You see, your dad’s eyes open suddenly. A woman is standing over your mom with her hand on her stomach. She seems to be concentrating. Your mom seems to be struggling in her sleep yet unaware of the event. Your dad attempts to rise, but the woman pushes out with her hand, and your dad is thrown across the room. You can’t see the woman’s face, but at one instant, you see a strange black necklace around the woman’s neck. When your mom and dad wake, they seem confused but go on about their day. You are born some months later.
Your dream drifts to a time when you were young and playing with the other kids. You can’t help but be happy as you watch yourself. Then in the background, one of the women attending, you don’t recognize her. She draws her coat around herself against the cold and you notice on a strange red mark on the back of her hand.
