The Order of the Blade
This ancient Saurian cult was spawned as a result of Saurian culture’s idolization of the sword back in the Saurian pocket dimension, actually taking it to a religious level. Unfortently, this cult was able to join the Saurian exodus from their dimension, contaminating Avendora with their presence. Standard acolytes dress in hooded red and black robes, each with a vial of blood spilled by their own sacred blade hanging around their neck from a black chain. Hanging from this grim necklace’s twin chain belt is their ornately inscribed sacred blade, a dagger of about 12”. This cult worships blades of any kind but especially daggers and swords, the latter of which is a higher status symbol. They believe that any blood spilled by their sacred blades greatly pleases their god, Calagore. They regularly hold sacred rituals where the blood of a non-cult member (it doesn’t matter who, though the higher the victims status the more glory it brings) is drawn with a blade, as much as possible being collected by the cult members who then either drink it or store it in their vials of viscera. Priests of the Order of the Blade dress all in red with their faces obscured by a featureless mask. The Exalted, of which there is only 1 per chapter, (usually there is one chapter per planet) is dressed similarly except for being more ornate and all in black. Most Saurian planets will have at least a small chpapter of the Order of the Blade lurking somewhere on its surface.
