Niamari Collective (N-eye-uh-mar-ee)
Culture: Independently contained hive minds/artisan explorers
Overview: The Niamari race started in Minotaur Dictatorship territory, and by extension that of the Saurian Empire. Of course no contact was allowed with them until they went to the stars as specified in the Alphega Accords. After achieving space travel, the Niamari Collective sent explorers and artisans traveling through the stars in every direction to gain as much knowledge and art as they could from their clearly far more advanced neighbors. They also made close ties with the Saurian Empire and Foxan Court. While they did indeed greatly advance their technology and culture as a whole, they also were exposed to the most horrible atrocities of the galaxy as well. Particularly The Durge, who the Niamari subsequently devoted their civilization to eradicating from the galaxy in addition to advancing the arts.
Technology: Niamari have an innate level of psychic ability, which is how their system of independently conscious hive mind biology works as well. As such, much of their technology allows them to psychically interface with it, from many components and stations on their ships, to weapons and industrial machinery, to artistic creations. Their technology itself has been greatly supplemented through tech treaties, sometimes in exchange for art and other culture, with other nations (mainly the Saurians and Atalantis as they are the most advanced).
Education
The Niamari are constantly scouring the galaxy for other cultural and artistic nuances to either assimilate or preserve. One thing in particular that they seem to take a particular interest in is languages, most Niamari even knowing several dozen. Once, an expedition even went to Sol III due to their unusual number of diverse languages there. While this technically violated the Alphega Accords, it was claimed that this expedition was a rogue element and they narrowly escaped prosecution in addition to collecting many new languages. For some reason, the Niamari took a particular interest in the language there called Greek, which was discovered to somehow have its roots in the old Walren dialect, though it has been greatly changed and supplemented.
