What Is This Place?

Dorm Room 182 is the typical Central Metropoli University dorm room—a safe, comfortable, and spacious haven for students. This single room boasts a quaint living room, connected dining room and kitchen, pristine bathroom, cozy bedroom and a zen, plant-filled balcony overlooking a gorgeous view of the bustling and vibrant metropolis below.

However, what differentiates this room from every other is the fact that it serves as the primary meetup place, or "headquarters", of well-known college gaming group Domigamination.

Appearance

This living space can be aptly described as "a gamer's paradise". The living room is delightfully furnished with thick comfy couches, a long sofa, and several pink, purple and blue beanbags. Standing prominently before the seats are two 40-inch hover-TVs with two mini-fridges under them.

The bedroom is the inarguably most impressive part. It is bathed in the glow of blue and pink LED strip lighting that runs along the ceiling and corners. Sitting against the back wall is a single bed decorated with various soft pillows and a blanket decorated with cute rabbits. Next to it is a tall black closet with pink streaks lining the sides and atop it is a single rabbit plushie—a gift from a parent and a few scented pods with smells of lavender and freshly-baked pastries.

The heart of the room is a sleek black desk that houses three large monitors displaying dynamic game graphics. A powerful gaming PC with visible internal components sits on the right side of the desk, while the left side provides ample space for an RGB keyboard and rabbit-shaped mouse. A high-backed gaming chair with purple accents, ergonomic design, and a pair of bunny ears extended takes center stage, promising comfort during long gaming sessions. To the right of the desk, a black cabinet with multiple shelves houses gaming consoles, photographs, and decorative items. On the opposite wall is a large flat-screen TV mounted above the console. Two black tower speakers flank the TV, ensuring an immersive audio experience. A small shelf unit tucked in the corner holds additional decorative items and gaming accessories.

To top it all off, all of the rooms in this dorm are illuminated with a warm, neon purple glow emitted from lights built into the walls and corners and lamps sitting on tables, counters and drawers that can be remotely turned on and off.

Headquarters of Domigamination

A popular story shared amongst students is that every Saturday, after classes for the week have ended, all members of the famous college gaming group convene in this room and discuss the next game to play and plans on how to beat it as quickly and epically as possible. Numerous fans and curious students flock to the room and press their ears against the door and wall in an attempt to eavesdrop but are never successful as, during these meetings, the interior walls have soundproof-mode activated.

I swear, the amount of people showing up to my room everyday and asking me to tell 'em about what "epic plans they have in store", all the while gushing and hyperventilating and looking like they were about to pass out from sheer excitement. Ugh.

While these stories hold some amount of truth, more often than not, the reality of these meetups is merely just for good friends to hang out and unwind from the week's final lessons. Saturdays are frequently spent chatting about school, classes, family and other plans, holding small parties for each other, excitedly playing video games or just to silently relax in each other's company.

Button Mashin' Warm-ups

The team prepares for intense gaming sessions by engaging in a "dummy game," a dynamic warm-up exercise where a series of controller-labeled buttons cascade from the top of the screen. The challenge is to strike the corresponding buttons on the controller as swiftly as possible before they vanish at the bottom. The golden rule? No one can officially start their gaming session until they've surpassed their previous high score. This exercise helps to greatly boost concentration and speed.

House Parties

These gatherings are organized to celebrate a member's birthday, gaming triumphs, or significant personal and interpersonal achievements. Exclusively attended by members of Domigamination, these bonding parties feature exciting party games, dance battles, a healthy dose of beverages, some of which may contain moderate amounts of alcohol, and lively music from the group's Certified DJ™, Alezander.

Silent Relaxation

True to its name, this activity invites the team to share each other's presence in a serene atmosphere, primarily in silence. They can enjoy a movie together, relax on beanbags, or gaze out over the balcony, soaking in the vibrant rhythm of city life below. This shared experience fosters a sense of connection, as individuals appreciate the unspoken bond formed in the midst of quiet contemplation. Ultimately, it encourages deeper conversations and reflections that can enhance teamwork and collaboration in the future.
