The Unfinished Temple

Purpose / Function

The Unfinished Temple is the center of the The Brotherhood of Blessed Iron. This is where the most important functions of the brotherhood are performed. Here are where Acolytes are trained in the way of the brotherhood. The prayers are made, and where the holy metals are smelted. Here is where the council of second brothers meet, and this is where First Brother Resides.

Alterations

Over the years, numerous expansions have been made. Most of which housing for the increases in membership. Libraries, containing religious texts, writings, and of course, techniques found, created or stolen by the Brotherhood. Additional Workshops were added intermittenly over the centuries. The Temple always has some form of construction going on it's hallowed walls. It's name, ever deserving.

Architecture

The Unfinished Temple is Made of Stone in a Gothic Style. Massive in size, the highest point being over 150 meters at it's height, expanding far below another 30 meters. The Unfinished Temple occupies a space of over 5 acres, but an additional 10 acres has been purchased, or gifted, to the Brotherhood.

History

The Unfinished Temple was built in 4872 ER 2, a small temple dedicated to the Apprentice. The Temple was standard until it was taken over by Edvard Hilmen in 4953, who used the temple as both a place for worship, and as a place to train his apprentices. The arms created by Hilmen's sect were superior to the more common arms, so they had made some fortune by selling off their arms and armor. They used their funds to buy the nearby Farm lands, allowing them to construct additional dormitories and workshop. Construction work was constant back then, the temple was given the moniker "The Unfinished Temple". The name stuck.   Eventually, the Secrets of the Iron Brotherhood were stolen, and with the The Brilliant sons no longer needing to tolerate the heretical beliefs within their nation purged the group. Slaying what members were there, and giving those brothers who were away no home to return to.

Tourism

Most who visit the Unfinished Temple are either brothers, acolytes or aspirants. There is not much for tourists to see, as the temple is made more for function than style. The only truly beautiful parts of the temple are the Blessed Smelters, where the metals by which the brotherhood makes it's name are smelted. But those areas are not open to visitors.   Now the site is but a ruin, most of those who visit are looters seeking to steal what hasn't already been carried away or burned.
