Early life
He was born on a stormy night into the Dawne family as a very healthy young boy. During his childhood he learned a lot about fighting and the history of his family. When he wasn't learning or training how to fight, he often fought with his brother Manwin. They never got along and were often scalded by their father and mother for fighting. In his early teens Hagen got obsessed with the story about his grandfather Darius whom he only met as a one year old child and thus doesn't remember and the family shield. He learned that Darius went missing during the attempt to retrieve this family heirloom and has been dreaming of recovering it himself.The attempted recovery of the family shield
One night in the year of 954 when he was only 13, Hagen gathered his backpack and weapons to set out to go adventuring to find the family shield. Unbeknownst to his family he snuck out of the castle at night and went on his adventure. Following the details of the stories about his grandfather, he knew where he wanted to go.The return home
After fruitless and dangerous adventures that almost cost him his life, he returned home in the year 954. Upon returning, he found that his father Kentish had recently been in a fatal jousting accident. His fathers death was devastating to him and he never forgave himself for just running off without saying goodbye to his father. Hagen was presumed dead as he was missing so his brother Manwin was temporarily named Baron of Danevin. Now that Hagen had returned he was the rightful heir being the older brother. The title was quickly passed over to Hagen from his brother, which Manwin of course did not like in the least. Manwin stormed out of the family castle and went to Kecklerstead where he had many friends. Manwin demanded the title of Baron back and upon Hagens refusal, he started a civil war and split Danevin in two, Norevin was created.The loss of Danevin
The family shield, which he had been desperately trying to find "The Shield of Family Dawne" an important symbol for the people of the region was located in March of 1003 in an old crypt in The Cursed Forest by some adventurers. It was then recovered by an adventurer and delivered to the baron of Norevin, Manwin Dawne. It didn't take long for Lord Manwin Dawne to come to the castle of Lord Hagen with many different lords of the region to dethrone him. Lord Hagen's family managed to escape, he himself however was captured and has been thrown into a dungeon in an unknown location by Lord Manwin.The death of Manwin
A couple of weeks later, he was freed from his brothers dungeon and lead to Kecklerstead. There he was informed that his brother, Lord Manwin was murdered by an adventurer called Hikairi. He owed her his freedom but the murder of a baron is not to be taken lightly, especially considering this baron was still his brother regardless of how he was treated by him. After a lengthy trail, Hagen decided to brand Hikairi as a criminal and let her go. Being the next of kin to Manwin, he took the position of baron of Norevin and Danevin. In August of 1004, the pact of Ledos fell apart. All lords decided to turn their territories back into Kingdoms. This one included.Personality Characteristics

History
Manwin and Hagen always fought as children. After their fathers death, Manwin was promised the title of baron of Danevin which was then revoked shortly after when his older brother Hagen returned. Hagen was on a mission to find a lost family heirloom and wasn't heard from for a year. Manwin decided to start a civil war and split their fathers land in two destroying his relationship with his brother.
