Recently, Alliance of Lombardia  astronomers discovered a whole new planet in the sky that had never been observed before. This has sent the academic and arcane worlds on their ears, though the discussion is esoteric for most people. This new planet named Cerealia by the discoverers, has implications in both the academic and arcane worlds. Cerealia is a darker world, not reflecting as much light as other planets for some reason. In the academic world, Astronomy is already important to the Western Kingdoms as it helps their seafaring interests become safer and more efficient. The discovery of a whole new planet has immediate implications, not merely in navigation but inspiring the idea that there is far more out there to be discovered. In addition, the scholarly world is interested in why the planet is so dim when Mars and Jupiter are so very bright. In the Arcane world, mages wonder why they didn't sense the magic of the world as its influence should have been felt in the magical study of astrology long ago. In fact, the world seems to have almost no astrological impact whatsoever. Currently, academics of the arcane world are arguing as to whether the world is somehow magically dead or depleted. Regardless of why Cerealia had remained undiscovered for so long, it is quite popular now to scrutinize it with the advances in optics available to scholars, now that they know where to look
So much of arcane magic uses bits of the study of astrology to power spells and imbue artifacts. The fact that this planet remained undiscovered for so long is a puzzle to us. What happened to an entire planet that we weren't able to predict it being there is a great mystery to us.   ~ Harold Ettenfeild, head of Arcane Astrological Studies at the Library of Saxony
Who knew that it was out there, or that it was so dim?? I was as surprised as anyone when I found it!     ~ Anonymous Casinium Monk
