Escape from Meicor

General Summary

The party lept into action to combat the sudden threat. Anton swiveled the Mangy Dog's bombard around and blasted the drakon that appeared from the sea while Grom focused on distracting the large group of guards that just arrived. The group of men fleeing the guards used this opportunity to gain ground towards the Tranquil Angel, except for their mounted leader who engaged the guard captain in combat. Ra'zon ordered Big Tom & Skinny Pete to attack the shadowy figures, and the two were joined by Raporra. As the shadowy figures boarded the Dog, Grom cast a spell on Anton's fire-lance allowing him to fire off several concurrent shots. Meanwhile Ra'zon turned the recently-mounted ballista of the Tranquil Angel to fire on the drakon, which turned its attention to the larger ship. When it approached, Ra'zon engaged in hand-to-hand combat with it while Big Tom, Skinny Pete, and Raporra climbed back aboard the Angel. Back on the Mangy Dog Anton ordered the ship to box haul in an attempt to leave the harbor, but not before he along with two of his crew went down from the drakon's breath attack which also took out one of the figures. Aboard the Tranquil Angel, Ra'zon and Mean James both went down, but with help from the crew Grom was able to dispatch the last figure and the drakon through the Shatter spell.
Narrowly escaping with their lives, the fleeing group was brought aboard the Tranquil Angel. They introduced themselves as Donato de Vermilla, an elderly knight of the Order of the Doleful Aspect; Caro Herrero, his squire; Durbin Halftooth, a Katalian Company captain; and Clerigo Spumoni, a Katalian blacksmith. As the two ships headed out to sea, Donato thanked the party for their assistance and asked if they could drop him off at his villa in the Argendivan city of Vermilla, to which they agreed. That evening, everyone met in the galley of the Tranquil Angel for drinks and daydream tea for hard-earned relaxation. Stories were swapped, including Ra'zon revealing his full backstory to the party. As the night winded down on a long and welcome evening of rest and comradery, everyone shuffled back to their own quarters and went to sleep for the night.
