Cateron IX
A lawless space station, filled with denizens from across the Galaxy
The place is mightily impressive you have to admit, there's a reason this station gets more traffic than most places in the Galaxy. This 'Place', is run by criminals, controlled by criminals, it amazes me every day that no government or military force destroys it.Epsilon Frontier Station, nicknamed Cateron IX, or the Pirate Station, is a massively modified Raleigh Class Space Station situated within the Cateron System. As its nickname would suggest, the station is one of the few in the Galaxy of Astraesto controlled uncontested by criminal organisations - namely several disparate pirate groups. The station sees an enormous amount of traffic, including both people and goods and has been known to service as much as a quarter of the total trade imports of the Kingdom of Apreas. Despite the open ownership of the station by pirate groups, the Station has seen relatively little activity from law enforcement or military agencies. As the system of Cateron falls under the control of the Planetary Republic of Atania, there is little the major powers of Astraesto, especially the Federation of Anfieden and Allied Planets and the Kingdom of Apreas between which the station sits, can do without the Republic's permission. Thanks to the economic activity the station is able to generate, Atania has no need or desire to see the station disappear, provided the pirate leaders stray from Atanian shipping routes and pay a certain tax. Though expensive, the pirates, and all the other criminals that call Cateron IX home, are comforted by the station's safety, a rare luxury for the denizens of the station.-
