Assassination of Prince Arwik
The Assassination of Prince Arwik was a successful assassination attempt, carried out by agents of the Federation Governmental Arm of Intelligence, during the apex of the 2nd Galactical War, on the crown prince of the 4th Empire of Jerace, Prince Claus Arwik.
Prince Arwik was assassinated while traveling the Imperial Highway on the outskirts of Venruth, Moneyye. At approximately 7:46pm on Friday, November 29th, as the Prince was enjoying the view of the Endenlormare Falls, a sniper, George Nicholls, fired a single shot. The bullet pierced the Prince's skin, but he survived the initial shot. The Prince's protection detail quickly got him under cover, and soon a firefight emerged between them and agents of the Federation.
During the engagement the Prince was fatally shot twice by Agent Lucas Lee Roddes. As the protection detail forced their way through the Federation forces, they quickly transported the Prince to the nearest hospital, where he was pronounced dead soon after. Remaining Federation agents fled, until they were all hunted down by Jeraci Domestic Intelligence, and soon after executed.
The Conflict
Outcome
In an attempt to inspire Jeraci forces in the field to fight on harder after the death of their Prince, the news of the assassination was quick to reach the front lines. However, the opposite effect engulfed several Jeraci Fleets, primarily the 10th, 19th and 21st Fleets who were in battle with the 6th Sector Fleet, who broke almost immediately. Only one fleet, the 17th, were inspired to fight on after the news, during the 4th Battle of Grafiel.
