The Fourth Age

After the War of Tears, the mortal races settled once again into peace. The dwarven and dragonborn historians marked this change as the transition to a new age, the Fourth Age. In disgrace of the War of Tears, the elves pulled away from the rest of Xorik and settled into the forests in solitude. The gnomes, horrified by the war’s atrocities, fled to a nearby island and established the nation of Frasnir. The dwarves, wary of war, retreated to their mountains and only interacted with the other races to trade. Left to their own devices, humans proceeded to conquer most of the unclaimed regions of Xorik.
