Yushu
Yushu, the southernmost island in the Rokugan archipelago. This island is home to the Sugikawa clan, and the first major Kitsune settlement in all of Rokuagn since the ancient Kitsune hunts. Yushu is one of the warmest places in Rokugan, and has some of the most fertile soil. It is a agricultural juggernaut, and it's people enjoy peaceful lives. The land is home to lush verdant forests, and sprawling verdant fields. Because of the island's natural beauty the Sugikawa clan adopted green as it's primary color.
Yushu is home to many different settlements, from the capital of the province, Kogane in the southeast, to Kyuha in the north and all the villages and forts in between. The mountains surrounding the deepest parts of Kyushu protect it from would be invaders, as well as providing an excellent source of vitamins and minerals for all sorts of plantlife in the Yushu's great valley.
The Island is also famous throughout Rokugan for it's sweet plum sake. The Sugikawa clan is said to have originally come from one of the families who grew some of the famous Plum orchards in southern Yushu, hence the compassion they show for its people. Most people living in Yushu regard the Sugikawa clan as their own flesh and blood, rather than their Samurai overlords.
