As Evertrees' demand for Blue Maple sky-rocketed, most farmers in the vicinity turned to cultivate the trees as fast as they could. Many of them realized that the gentle slopes between the Eregath ocean and the Red Arm had the perfect conditions for the maple to grow. As the nearby city had a lot of interest in this endeavour they put a great deal of resources towards making sure that it was finished. Farmers fought each other for the right to the land while several villages sprung up over the area.
Now, many centuries later, the slopes are covered in Blue Maple and the region is one of the safest in the republic.

Fauna & Flora

Although the majority of the area is used for cultivating Blue Maple, it is not exclusively farmed. The villages still need to put food on their plates and so they also grow a lot of crops. The maples also need other species of flora to be able to grow properly and so patches of green forest interrupt the blue stretch here and there.
The hills have a lower population of monsters than many other places of the country, but they are not completely safe from their intrusions. Those who live closest to the Red Arm are on constant watch for marauding bands of Orcs.

Natural Resources

The Azure Hills carry their name because of the Blue Maple that grows upon it. It is almost exclusively what the area supplies to the rest of the country.
