Vigilants of the Thalador

Founded as a less militaristic arm of the Followers Inquisition, while originally unpopular, the Vigilant's made their name during the Eighth-Wave, when a band of them protected a village against the half-dozen demons who were attacking it. Since then, the Vigilant's numbers and popularity have exploded, with small groups being found traveling the countryside listening to stories and gathering information on the supernatural.

History

After the disaster that was the siege of Ionith, the Followers sought Imperial support to root out witchcraft before it took root in a region. They were dealt with coldly by the Emperor, however, one Legate, a man named Lourius supported a more militant church and was able to politic his way into granting the Followers the destroyed fortress of Cahir Abbey. With a handful of former legionnaires that rallied around the banner of the new order, the Vigilant's were founded.   The Vigilant's great test came a during the Eight Wave, when the nearby village of Cahir was attacked. After breaking the demonic force that was attacking the village, the news of the Vigilant's fierce reputation was spread far and wide as thousands flocked to the bustling fortress for training and purpose.
