Welcome to Asperia, a world of hope, adventure, and mystery. The world is not a place of peace, though there are many who wish it were so, but it is a world for those who seek to make it better. Conflict is driven by these people, these people who never change, as every king, mayor, and emperor seeks new land, new resources, and new people to call their own. And they are not the only ones at work.   From the dawn of the world, there have been forces at play far beyond the power and conception of mortals. The gods, ancient and powerful, are always seeking something, whether it be followers, power, beauty, or knowledge, they are always searching. And while the gods live in peace, their wrath can tear the world apart. From the Far Beyond, beings far darker than the gods bend their wills to destruction. And from the Other Side, the unknowable reaches. Eight times have the waves of darkness washed upon the Righteous, and eight times have the waves been broken by the faith of the free peoples.   But now, it is an age of peace. It has been sixteen centuries since the Theomachy and prosperity has reached all corners of Asperia. Velemin and Aegrion trade fleets sail across the boundless sea to new worlds, The Empire delves ever deeper into the Witchwood, and the Orthon are slowly driven back.   Across the oceans, Caelondia and the Ura vie for power and survival in the wilderness, Tanelorn keeps its mournful vigil, and the Baandari fight a desperate and losing war against Aegrion. To the unexplored south, the untamed continents of Na-Tatu and Yekubu hold the ruins of countless lost empires from the days of the Theomachy, now ripe for exploration by daring adventurers.   But not all is peace and hope, it has been just six decades since Asperia was torn apart by the Spawn wars, when the will of the Righteous races were put to the test. And it was only fifteen years ago that the Aegrion capital was besieged by The Empire. And because people never change, war is inevitable. With the Great Hunt now approaching, all peoples now look to the heavens for a sign, as the fiery messengers make their nightly journey, the seers and priests read the augury, and pray for one more day of peace.
