The Reiksguard Knights

The Reiksguard Knights are not the oldest, nor are they the largest knightly order in the Empire. They are, however, the most prestigious and elite. Formed from the bodyguard of Emperor Alistar III Blackmane, the Reiksguard have acted as the premier tool of Imperial authority for the past millennia. Wherever a Reiksguard Knight can be found, he carries the absolute authority of the Emperor himself. For this reason they are picked from among the most loyal, trustworthy, noble, and experienced knights and legionnaires of the Empire.
The Reiksguard Knights are most recognizable thanks to their mounts, imported from high in the Anarak, each Reiksguard personally trains his griffon so as to ensure that they work as a single entity, and thanks to the lifespan of a griffon each Reiksguard will typically only have one mount during his service.
