Ironspire

“Where Iron Meets Flame, Legends Are Born.”

Ironspire is considered the first true nation to emerge from the ruins of the post-Ancient world.
To be Ironspire-born is to carry a legacy of survival, reconstruction, and order — a duty to carry the flame of civilization forward.

  • Mandatory national service:
  • Begins at age 16
  • 1 year training + 3 years active duty
  • Women may serve, and often do, if capable
  • Non-Ancient Humans face systemic inequity despite official inclusivity

Political Structure

  • The High Council (battle-proven or wise lords/ladies) advises and enforces policy
  • Succession requires:
  • Ruling and improving a territory
  • Commanding military forces
  • Respecting the lives and needs of citizens

The Common Civic Codex

Ironspire operates by a formal Codex of Crown and Citizen with 73 articles.
Most citizens are raised on the simplified Common Civic Codex — ten rules recited by cadets, etched in banners, and taught in public halls.

“Born of Iron, sworn to fire.”
“We don’t raise heroes. We raise successors.”

Non-aggression, Royal Ties

Although neither country has had to deal with each other's military efforts on the battlefield, they have had many trade wars with each other.   Mostly, they had more benevolent interests toward each other and even had marriages between noble families and noble clans, respectively.   This changed during the Rise of the Radicals, and relations became quite tense.   Relations mostly collapsed once the Dreadspire over threw the royals, however many allies in Oralthis assisted in the rescue of the royal family and noble families with ties to Oralthis.   The elves of Oralthis were mostly against harsh punishments against Ironspire recognizing Dreadspire as a wholly separate issue.

Non-aggression, Old Rivals

Ironspire and Mechanis have always been at odds with each other.   They have a grudging respect for each other and their mutual history as conquerors.   ---   Mechanis helped to destroy Dreadspire and re-instate the royal family of Ironspire.   They were also the main voice advocating for their allied countries to assist in rebuilding Ironspire during the established white peace after the Great War and to delay the repayment of their debt by twenty years.   This has granted them eternal gratitude from the citizens of Ironspire.

Non-Aggression

The dwarves are an isolated nation as far from Ironspire as possible. Mostly, they didn't care about their country.   They did maintain solid trade relations with them through their allies in Oralthis.   This attitude remained even during the Great War, as Voltaris mainly operated as a weapons supplier.   They were entirely neutral regarding punishment, only wishing to be repaid for their efforts and to return things to the status quo.   "Since the rightful rulers are now in place... we only wish for trade to resume to normal as soon as possible."

Shinryu

Ironspire used to control the territories of the Shinryu before their rebellion.   Their relationship hasn't improved beyond cold very much, though they maintain trade relationships.   The Shinryu were strong advocates for harsh punishments against Ironspire.

Indifference

Ironspire isn't aware of all the illegal things this Mercenary group has done within their borders.

Completely Hostile

  • Kill or capture on site.
  • They overthrew the monarchy of this country when they rose to power and killed many of their citizens.
