Cormaeum (Kor-meh-um)
Located in the dark caverns, under the Dwarven City of Uftlon, the capitol of the dark elves Cormaeum is home to the Temple of the Mistress and centers the worship of Ligeoa.
The high priestesses of the dark elf clans meet in the High Circle of Ligeoa yearly in the capital to offer sacrifice, discuss policy, form alliances, trade consorts, and murder each other. Each major clan has a separate home cavern, but each also has a dwelling in the capitol. Cormaeum is home to several iconic entities in dark elf culture.
The first of these is the Cormaeum Academy where blood children of the major clans are educated in their required responsibilities and skills. The Academy is the highest institution of learning and quite exclusive. The education at the Academy is comprehensive and covers topics from religious observance and systematic theology, to banking and finance, languages, sexual activities, mathematics, science and magic. Graduates of the Cormaeum Academy are highly placed in careers determined by the political, military and economic needs of their clan mothers.
The second is the dark elf military and industrial complex. These powerful organizations are led by specific clans, most notably, the military is led by Clan Iraenox, while the industrial league is headed by Clan Telum.
Major industries centered in Cormaeum include weaponsmithing, poisons and assassination, stonecraft, spinning and weaving, and drug and chemical manufacturing.
