Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Zênush is quite tall for being a Redwood Elf, and even though he has the typical willowy elvish statures most elves have, he carries himself in a way that makes him look intimidating. He is a hunter and thus quite fit and agile, but he has a limp in his left leg.
Body Features
Zênush is tall for a Redwood elf and he has impressive horns. With them he is just about 2 meters tall. He has a willowy, lean body and looks quite athletic.
Facial Features
He has a sharp, regal face, with sharp cheekbones, hooded almond eyes, a long straight nose and thin lips. His eyebrows are slightly arched. He has a bit of a resting bitch face syndrome, which only adds to his intimidating looks.

He has a scar running through his left eyebrow and under eye, and another one on his left leg.
Special abilities
Zênush is an extraordinarily skilled hunter, which he has to be to hold the title Hunter in Chief, but he han also use one or the other blood rune.
Apparel & Accessories
Zênush wears hunter's garb made from the red-green-orange-brown moss fabric typical for the redwoods. It's a tunic with long, wide sleeves, parting into four panels and ending a bit over the knee. His pants are a light weight leather with a tree bark pattern on them, and the wide sleeves of his tunic are caught in bark armguards covering his forearms up to his elbows. He wears boots made from sturdy but not stiff leather and he wears a leather belt around his waist and cross body over his right shoulder. In addition to that he wears a second belt made from branches and an amber gemstone over the leather belt. A mesh of branches also adorns his neck, shoulders and chest. The one thing that designates him as the hunter in chief is the rich red overcoat he wears over his hunter's garb, even though he never wears it to go hunting, since it's a long, flowy and rather heavy piece of fabric, reserved only for when he is in the Light House. To top it of, a red silk band is slung around his horns, decorated with pearls made from precious materials, designating him as the Hunter in Chief.
Specialized Equipment
He wields Silentsong, the great bow of the Redwoods, passed down from one Hunter in Chief to the next. It's a bow made from a very rare wood, etched with bloodrunes and its arrows are said to never miss their mark. The bow is completely silent, but when the arrows strike their victim, they hear a melody ridding them of any pain and giving them a peaceful death.

Personal history
Zênush was born in a time of war. Zayth Tcheor had tried to stay out of the Magic Wars as long as possible, but when calamity eventually came to them and oblitered not only half of the Crimson Shallows, but also the trees of the Redwoods, things got ugly really fast for the Zayth Tcheori. They had to defend themselves from magic users who wanted in on the secret of their power and who thought the red trees would give them strength. Zênush had to witness many ugly battles and even fought in them as well.
He became part of a unit tasked with hunting down the Thunder Badger of the Faerie Hills, so its teeth, hide and blood could be used to defeat their enemies.
The badger was a thing of legend, but they managed to find it, and Zênush got into a fight with it, where he earned the scar over his left eye and on his left leg. He defeated the creature and brought it back to Zayth Tcheor, where it was used to fend off their enemies. Ever since then, Zênush has had a limp, but it didn't stop him from being a skilled, quick and agile hunter.
After the war he challenged the previous Hunter in Chief for the title and won it. Ever since then he has led Zayth Tcheor and defeated every challenger who wanted to get the title. He also has the overwhelming majority of the Zayth Tcheori on his side.

Savvies & Ineptitudes
Zênush is a skilled hunter and tracker. His expertise with an arsenal of different weapons is admirable, as is his preference to deal with conflict in a diplomatic manner rather than with violence. Previous Hunters in Chief hadn't exactly been known for diplomacy and leniance. He is also adept at using blood runes, even though he can only wield a few of them. He is a natural leader who commands people wisely and respectfully.

He is wise, calm and treats everyone with respect, no matter their status. A strong willed, dedicated, strategic thinker who inspires others with his hard work, calm charisma and loyalty to his people. Zênush is determined to reach his goals and he always makes sure to take informed action, which is objective and fact based. He is not shy to change his views and courses of action when he is proven wrong. His scepsis and analytical thinking inform his great wisdom.
Vices & Personality flaws
Even though it doesn't show, Zênush has difficulty relaxing and is rather tense a lot of the time. There is also a certain underlying arrogance to his character, but in sharp contrast to someone like Auun who displays it quite openly, his arrogance is more covert. Having held the title of Hunter in Chief for a long time and having fended off every challenger, gave him a certain self-assuredness, which sometimes makes it hard for him to listen to others he deems inferior in skill or knowledge. He also has strong opinions about right and wrong and can become quite judgemental in the matter.

Reign
He started leading Zayth Tcheor shortly after the Magic Wars when Zayth Tcheor was in ruins, the people hopeless and the previous leader weak, exhausted and incompetent. Zênush challenged the previous leader and won by a landslide. He rebuilt Zayth Tcheor and made the infrastructure more efficient than before. Next to that he started rebuilding the lost relationship with Estira, but tightened the isolation towards the rest of the world. His reign began in 7164 AR and is still going strong.
