Moon Glass

Moon Glass is a precious type of glass that can only be created by high elves under the light of a full moon. The glass is used in the Ledrith Teithio as well as used commonly in the palace of Shimmering Grotto. The glass is very hard to come by and is not commonly found within Arrasgoth, specifically on the material plane. Without Moon Glass, the feywild castle in Shimmering Grotto would start to fall apart so they keep a group of high elves constantly working on making more.

Properties

Material Characteristics

Moon Glass is a transparent silver in colour and can be seen through on both sides. It is melted and cut into various different shapes but naturally tends to form into a crystallise pattern, similar to an uncut gemstone.

Origin & Source

Moon Glass is not found naturally and involves the melting of fine sand to create it into glass. Once the glass has been created, it must be left to cool under a full moon until it shows its full glory. It needs the magical power of high elves to be able to fully form into Moon Glass as they are the only race that are able to harness Euad's power into the cooling process.

History & Usage

History

Moon Glass has been mostly used in high elven culture but the large majority has been used in the building of the palace in the Feywild of Shimmering Grotto. The first King of The Fey felt entranced by the glass and, due to its rarity, found it to be quite the draw for his ideas. He commissioned a group of high elves to work for years to fit every window pane with Moon Glass in different colours.
