Sfera

Sfera is the capital city of Cogys and headquarters of the Eternal Library. Named after the large spherical structure of glass and metal at its center, it serves as the academic and cultural hub of both Cogys and the Consortium, though institutions such as the Amyhran Academy seek to eventually rival it academia. Built atop the ruins of an advanced past civilization, much of the infrastructure is inoperable, but the engineers and scientists have revived enough of it provide consistent light, warmth, and clean water to the thriving city. Rooftop gardens cultivate year-round crops to feed the growing population living within the multi-leveled structures beneath. The city itself is made of multiple layers, much of which is either buried beneath earth or flooded by the sea. Delvers have explored nearly all that can be without disrupting the city's way of life, but this doesn't stop them from trying to uncover some overlooked passage or unnoticed relic buried in the mud. 
The Eternal Library hosts daily lectures in the shadow of the Sfera structure, encouraging avid academic debate amongst all its citizens. Artifacts and manuscripts recovered from ruins both within the city, within Cogys, throughout the Consortium, and beyond, especially those recovered from smugglers or black markets, are brought here for study. Those that prove themselves to the Eternal Library, whether it be with mental prowess or an uncanny to recover artifacts and manuscripts, can be initiated into the secretive ruling class and given the opportunity to serve a purpose greater than themselves. With the significant restrictions put on the sharing of uncovered knowledge since the formation of the Consortium, this is an honor many Cogyns long for.
