The Nest

The Nest is an Island off of the north of Hawk Island. Named for the Rocs that call it home, The Nest is one of the very few parts of the Hawk Island Chain that hasn't been claimed by any semblance of civilization for that exact reason. Not much is known about the island, other then that Rocs live there and forests cover it.

Geography

The Nest has a steeper coastal side, there are no beaches on The Nest. To get onto the island one needs to be able to scale slick coastal cliffs, or can fly. The majority of the island is covered in the same kind of coniferous type as Hawk Island, but the terrain is steep and rolling. Small ponds dote the land providing fresh water for the Rocs. Parts of the island are very steep and mountainous, which are where the Rocs make their nests.

Fauna & Flora

The flora of The Nest is very typical of temperate rain forests. Conifers feature as the main tree on The Nest, with the sub species being mostly made up of the hawk island hemlock, the mountain hemlock, the wyvern spruce, the shore pine, and the hawk island pines. Berries, honeysuckle, ferns, lichens, and moss make up much of the forest floor. Fungi thrive in this climate, many species live in this area.   The fauna of The Nest is a lot less diverse. There are 10 currently known Rocs to be inhabiting The Nest, so much of the big game is non existent. No one alive has recorded how the small game of The Nest is fairing. The Rocs themselves keep each other in check, making sure the population doesn't outgrow their home. They don't interact with each other then if they are mated or it's their child. They do hunt Hawk Island as well for food, so they have been seen as far south as Port Velarno.

Natural Resources

Conifer forests cover the island. The mountains haven't been inspected to see if they have any resources within them. The Rocs are the most valuable and dangerous natural resource of The Nest.
