LUCINE (lu-cine)

Overview

Lucines are a legendary beast that once existed in the lands of Lavanita, before being rendered extinct in the aftermath of the Great Lucine Hunts. Lucines were not a natural beast, but in reality a combination of three beasts due to the machinations of Swindon Shamans. Lucines were once numerous throughout the islands of Swindon, used as monsters of war by Swindon Shaman-kings & shaman-queens against their enemies. A coalition of monster slayers from Pharas, Sartons, Blackweller Sigvills, brave pirates, and even Zarcas brought an end to all Lucines in the Great Lucine Hunts. They have never been seen ever since.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Lucines are a combination of three beasts unnaturally merged into one creature: the merging of a Tuskorr and a winged bird called a Calfon. This merger result in a creature named Lucine by a Swindon Shaman-queen, meaning in the Swindon tongue “winged tusk.” Lucines have the body, tail, and front legs of a Tsukorr; the head, back legs, and wings of that of a Calfon. Lucines are able to fly at will despite having the weight of a Tuskorr. Lucines also have the strength of a Tuskorr, increased by the dark arts of the Swindon shamans.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Due to the un-natural origin of the Lucine, reproduction is more or less done via arcane Swindon ritual methods that allow for breeding of these monsters to take place. The Swindon Shamans kept their methods of produce Lucines well-guarded, so it is unknown how to create an Lucine. Currently, the exact methods have been lost as the Swindon Shamans involved in the Great Lucine Hunts were exterminated with their secrets.
