Ancient Argentin for 'glass', the island of Tilth is the sole producer of glass -- enchanted and mundane -- for all of Continent of Argentii. Failure to follow their strict economic rules regarding placing and paying for orders can get an entire island banned from doing business for a generation or more.

Geography

Sandy desert, though ever shrinking as it is processed into glass. Bedrock shores are creeping ever inward with every pane of glass shipped away.

Ecosystem

Tilth is an ecological disaster that just won't quit. The island lacks even polluted fresh water; it was all used up generations upon generations ago, and so every drop of fresh water has to be imported.

In addition, the Bubble Wall means that the already stifling heat of the island is made even worse in the city. The glass shops don't help anything, and so most of the water is used not only to keep the glass-blowers functional, but also in the cooling of the places frequented by the Ruling Caste and Merchant Caste
