Ever-Ice Glacier

The Ever-Ice Glacier is a massive, ever expanding mountain of ice trapped in an enormous lake deep in the center of the Frozen Kingdoms. It is cold, desolate and unforgiving. The Ever-Ice harvested from the glacier's core never melts and is used to make Cold Steel. This is then used to create magical weaponry, armor and magical items.    Due to it's nature, the glacier is constantly in motion, creeping along the edges of the enormous lake that encloses it. This lake is surrounded by the mountainous ranges of the Frozen Kingdoms. When the Ever-Ice Glacier collides with the shores of the great lake, it creates earthquakes. These massive events reverberate throughout the entire ice shelf. It is referred to by locals as Winter's Growl, which oddly enough, sounds similar to a dragon's growl.   While the glacier is pure ice, persistent flora has miraculously managed to grow over the centuries at the center of the Ever-Ice Glacier. This slowly created a thin layer of soil that created a hardy tundra. The trees that grow here produce thermally sound lumber used in the local homes. As a result, many of the homes of the White Dragonborn are surprisingly warm.    There are no streams or rivers in the Ever-Ice Glacier. All freshwater is heated from the surface's ice or fallen snow. It is for this reason, all homes of the locals have ice picks with finer picks being very highly prized. The plants that grow here have incredibly dense and powerful roots that can absorb water from the ice. Some of the beasts have formed symbiotic relationships with others of the more fiery nature which created a unique ecosystem and balance.    The Ever-Ice comes from the Glacier's core known as Winter's Heart which is also the settlement of the White Dragonborn protectors of the Ever-Ice Glacier. The core slowly regrows regularly making it an endless resource if it is properly cared for.   Rumors say, this is not what the White Dragonborn protect. That this is just a distraction. If this is true, then the question becomes, what is it they truly protect then?
