Southerese

The people of the south and southwest regions of the Holy Qhaganate of Zalja. Though descended from the ancient Ikhans, the Southerese share much of their ancestry with the Khabarese nobility, born from the centuries of border skirmishes that predated the alliance of the Four Great Satari Kingdoms. Though they coexist peacefully with modern Ikhans, there is a notable divide between these two peoples. Southerese are generally seen as more (perhaps too) religious, with questionable loyalties to the Holy Solulan and therefore Khabar. They are a stark minority in most settlements except Qhair, where they make up fully three quarters of the population.
