Daksigavata

The Daksigavata is the southernmost stretch of land in Yaalk, a savannah surrounding the source of the Great Bariad River. Thought to have been a source of great conflict in ancient times, Daksigavata is remarkably peaceful today. It is home to Aqmiah, the most famous of the four Yaalkese cities (though not its capital), and home to the Great Academy of Yaalk, where it is said all the great mysteries of humanity have been answered.
It is a matter of fact, of course, that the Daksigavata was a place of great conflict in somewhat more recent history, as this was the main site of the Last Zaljan Crusade. Though Qhaganate forces would attempt and ultimately fail to seize all of Yaalk, it was the source of the Great Bariad that was believed to be their primary target; that, and an intention to convert or destroy the Shadow Watchers, many of whom could be found at the Academy. Today, the Academy has a strong Satari presence, but the legacy of the Shadow Watchers can still be found.
Given its southern location, the Daksigavata has an interesting mix of both Zaljan and Yaalkese fauna.
