The finest source of scholarship in the known world, the Great Academy is run by a conclave of scholars called the First Circle.
The Academy are the stewards of vast stores of knowledge found only in remote parts of the world, as well as forgotten histories and secrets from places closer to home. They also send out traveling scholars called sagi, to serve as counselors in Zalja and to travel the world in search of new information (and, some say, exotic treasures to fund their work).
