Ad-Anasia: Central Sphere

Ad- Anasia is the name of the original super- continent that existed before the continental divide. Ad- Anasia was seperated into 5 zones- the Central Sphere, Western and Eastern Spheres, and the Poles, Minas and Majas Polas.

The Central Sphere was a long, narrow continent that ran from North to South, connecting the Poles. The Eastern Sphere was also connected via a land bridge while the Western Sphere was only connected during warmer seasons, when the channel that fed into the ocean would rescind, allowing creatures to pass through the shallow waters. Many forms of Life first evolved in the Central Sphere and inevitably migrated to other regions.

Ad- Anasia's Central Sphere is now a large part of the continent, Ar- Dracadia. While plates from the Majas Polas have transformed most of the boundaries, ancient coastal mountain cliffs and ranges still dominate the landscape.

Geography

Formed by mountain chains and volcanic beds, this region sat directly on the Prime Meridian where the climate favored warmer conditions. Species of Saurian flourished during this time, as the climate started offering the sustenance they needed to survive. Primal jungles, rain forests, and temperate forests began growing in nutrient rich volcanic soil. These green zones were maintained by the plants, animals, and insects that grew there. Though it was the latest of the continents to form completely (due to aggressive volcanic activity), it no less became the most fertile of the regions.

The 5 plates that rose above sea level created a long land mass that connected all other regions to the Central Sphere. The Southern region of Central Sphere was where most vegetation and wildlife was able to flourish. Many fossil discoveries have come from this region. Farther North, the land was dangerously prone to the volcanic activity that pushed it above the sea. Marshes and volcanic beds were common in the Northern region of the Central Sphere.

Dominated on both sides by the inner oceans, Ad- Anasia's Central Sphere would experience varying levels of rain and storms from the Western region, where the mountain cliffs rose from the sea and pushed the strong winds to the South. While arid areas were more common near the central region, there were few desert regions before the continental divide.

Climate

As the Central Sphere sits directly on the Prime Meridian, the closer to the Equator was hotter than other regions. It received the most sun, allowing many different kinds of biomes to emerge. It had formed a colossal collection of plates in the center landmass, which made a lengthy chain of mountains. Once the continent had formed, it maintained a temperate climate throughout each season. During early warmer seasons, the Western regions suffered storms and monsoons that could last for weeks. Flooding occurred along the rivers until the hotter seasons, when the water levels dropped. Cold seasons affected the Southern region of Central Sphere the most, causing winter storms and ice flows to emerge from the Majas Polas.

History

Saurian Era

The Central part of the continent may have emerged later in the eras, but it no less was a vital cradle of life for descendant species. Most animals and beasts migrated between the upper region's landbridges and migrated through the mountainous regions and plateaus. As forests became more diverse, ecosystems with various members came and went during the passing of time.

Known as the Central volcanic chain, 7-8 volcanoes ran the length of the continent. Those volcanoes remained active through most of the Saurian Era. Before the continental divide. there were areas with diverse ecosystems, as indicated by fossil records. Prints and bones found preserved in tar and tree amber provided many Historians with clues to the traces of many originator species, including the Titanipede, one of the rarest preserved.

Great mangrove marshes formed beneath the volcanic steppes, which were prime breeding grounds for a variety of plant and animal life. Saurians were the most prevalent species, consisting of a variety of reptilian and Aerial specimens. Many of them were specialized feeders, categorized by either a carnivorous, herbivorous, or omnivorous appetite. The Belator were also a species found localized in many areas of the southern and central region.

The activity in the center nearest the Equator was a prized location; intense heat and geothermal vents gave Saurian creatures a hospitable environment to produce offspring. Certain Saurian and Draconic creatures routinely made migratory paths through the thick jungles and marshes that formed around the vents. Even mammalian species found a refuge from the cold in cooler seasons near these areas- though they were contested much during the colder temperatures.

The world of Pathon remained wild and verdant until 50 million years into the Draconic Era, when the species started to feel the effects of the Dracothage- a genetic disease that started to emerge, which ultimately produced the Drakan. It's believed that the oxygen and carbon monoxide levels started to diminish as Saurian species were hunted into extinction by the various Drakis.

Draconian Era

The Central Sphere was the main thoroughfare for migratory Draconic species. It had existed for millions of years as the narrow continental bridge which separated the hemispheres. Dragons were beginning to form the first civilizations and as such, when they met, they either conflicted or allied. The allied Dragons formed a great land bridge to each other, but the evil Dark Lord, Shoden Lo, usurped control of the roads and finished their construction. Though it was broken during the land divide, the expanse of highway known as "Ancient Dragon's Road" still exists both in ruin and perpetuity.

After the Dracothage began to affect the members of the Drakis species, many new mutations led to creatures such as the Drughof and the Drakan. Drughof were thought to be a reptilian species, similar to a long-necked raptor, but a quick notice of the other draconic features makes it a relative of this family. Drakan, on the other hand, live short lives in comparison to their Draconic relatives and resemble mortal humans as much as they do dragons. As they age, they may or may not more closely resemble their draconic heritages. The nature of Drakan as a species became a subject of the Dracadian Wars- an idealistic civil war that occured after the Draconian Era and Shoden Lo the Black Dragon's reign of evil.

As the Saurian species began to decline (both by the savagery of the Era and the predation of the Draconic species), mammalian life continued to evolve during the times, and the Southern region of the Central Sphere became one of their favorite locations. Different migratory species found their way here during the warmer seasons and then went either eastwards or westwards when the seasons became colder.

As the culmination of life found in the Eastern and Western Hemispheres, as well as the nomadic beasts of the Minas and Majas Polas, the Central Sphere was the most populated and fought over region during the Draconian Era. Since it was the cross of the center of the world, those who controlled the center controlled
