Mythmore Settlement in Arbressian | World Anvil

Mythmore

Mythmore is located on Hulpawa Island in Euhukoa Empire. It sits between two rivers leading into the large Myth Lake with its beautiful crystal waters, and surrounded by the expansive Mythic Woods.   Being the biggest city in Euhukoa, it is divided into eight districts; Old Town, Crystal Point, Sky Ward, North Wall, Legend Plaza, Mystery Place, Onward Point, and Lake Corner.   Mythmore is the only city in Euhukoa that still holds intact buildings from before the sundering - the event that tore the continent apart and turned it into floating islands. Not only are they intact, they look completely undamaged without having any repairs made to them. These buildings comprise the entirety of the largest district in the city named Old Town. All of them look like they were chiselled out from huge rocks or perhaps they were all carved out of the same small mountain. Made of solid light grey stone marbled with veins of deep purples and blues, the buildings are all intricately detailed with reliefs depicting things like plants and magical creatures. The buildings are very tall and many of them have turrets. In many places buildings are connected by decorative archways that stretch across the paved streets.   The history of how Old Town was made has been lost but there are two popular theories which are often cause for arguments between factions in the city. One such theory is that Corellon and Sehanine created the town for the elves of Euhukoa to live in shortly after The Parting War. What speaks for this theory is that the detailing of the reliefs and curved lines of the architecture are very typical for elvish design.   The second theory is that dwarves made Old Town with the help of Moradin himself. What speaks for this second theory is that solid stone is definitely far more utilised by dwarves and they are experts in carving out entire cities underground so making such a city above ground wouldn't be surprising.   However, there is a third, much less popular, theory that Corellon and Sehanine worked together with Moradin as well as elves and dwarves to create such a magnificent town. One would think that this theory should be more popular considering that all three gods and both races would have credit for such an architectural marvel, but those who think that this theory is the best one also suspect that the people insisting on either of the other two theories being true just like to have something to argue about.
